What Makes Artemis Financial Advisors Different?

Finding a new financial advisor can be a daunting task. Between researching, interviewing, and transitioning assets to a financial professional, it can be overwhelming to start a relationship for something as sensitive and personal as your finances. That’s why it’s so important to trust that your financial professional has both the knowledge to handle the intricacies of your plan and your investments, and the interpersonal skills to connect with you and your family.

With that in mind, I want to share three aspects that I believe set Artemis apart from many other advisory firms.

We Are a Unified Team 

One of the biggest factors that sets us apart is that we work as a unified team. As Artemis grew, I decided to focus on building a team of professionals who were motivated to work collaboratively so that we could offer a range of skills and expertise to our clients.  

For example, we often team up with one senior team member at Artemis to problem-solve on behalf of our clients as they have expertise in the following areas: 

  • Working with women who are the financial decision-makers in their household
  • Providing advice on stock compensation for successful professionals, particularly in the biotech/startup space
  • Understanding the distinct needs of physicians and others in the healthcare sector
  • Helping individuals and couples understand the financial intricacies of divorce and how to divide assets equitably
  • Developing focused financial advice to high-income couples with young children
  • Assisting clients with the complexities of Medicare, Social Security, and pension payout options

Whether it be a professional designation or a personal perspective, working as a team allows us to provide better service to our clients—our most important job at the end of the day.

As the founder of Artemis Financial Advisors, I also wanted to build an enduring firm that would outlast me, and I wanted to work with a team of people that I like and respect and who bring complementary perspectives. I feel honored to have been able to create this collaborative atmosphere with my colleagues and now partners, Kathleen, Mark, and Scott.

We Act As Financial Allies for Our Clients

Aside from a sense of community and teamwork, I wanted to build a firm centered around the idea of acting as financial allies for our clients. As financial professionals, we always act as fiduciaries for our clients, putting their best interests above our own; but I think the term “ally” takes this concept one step further. Not only do we act in our clients’ best interest financially at Artemis, but we are also truly in sync and aligned with their core values, which we believe leads to better solutions.

We Align Client Values With Investment Choices

At Artemis, we believe that each client should be able to express their values with their investment decisions. It’s not an obligation, but an option we offer to all our clients. Our approach aligns with our overall investment philosophy so there is no trade-off between performance and impact. In fact, we believe companies who are more effective stewards of the environment and committed to advancing important social and governance goals will deliver superior returns over the long run.  

We Deliver Customized Planning & Advice

There is a common perception of the financial services industry that most advisors are focused almost exclusively on selling products (e.g., whole life insurance, annuities, or actively managed mutual funds). There are certainly advisors who practice in this way, but there is a growing subset of professionals—and we are among them—who are focused on providing customized and comprehensive financial planning and investment advice without conflicts of interest. 

Our goal at Artemis is not to sell products but, rather, help our clients achieve their financial goals by working closely with them to develop a complete financial and investment strategy. With our holistic approach, we get to know our clients on a personal level, and we are honored to guide them through the different life phases—from college planning and wealth accumulation to retirement and legacy planning.
